The Stations of the Cross at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral once belonged to Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Philadelphia, which was constructed in 1924 and closed in 2012. The Diocese of Raleigh acquired the stations in 2013. At the time of acquisition, the stations were in relatively good condition and required little restoration. The multi-colored stations are three feet wide by slightly more than five feet high and are painted on a fold field. They are unique in their depiction of the Passion and Death of Jesus.

His betrayer had arranged a signal with them, saying, “the man I sh kiss is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely.” He came and immediately went over to him and said, “Rabbi.” And he kissed him. At this they laid hands on him and arrested him. Mark 14: 43-46 Lord, grant us the courage of our convictions that our lives may faithfully reflect the good news you bring.
